Pobřežní 665/21: Main Point
The Prague architectural firm DaM, founded in 1990 by Richard Doležal and Petr Malinský, has been entrusted with some of the most radical changes to the city’s urban landscape in recent years. One of their most striking new projects is the organically-shaped business complex known as Main Point, in the suburb of Karlín.
Winner of the Best Office and Business Development award at the 2012 MIPIM conference in Cannes, the ten-storey structure makes use of a number of technical innovations, including glass fibre-reinforced concrete cladding, and a cooling system that relies on water sourced from the neighbouring Vltava river. The result is a building which aims to become one of the most sustainable in Europe.
