Charlese de Gaulla 629/5

Jaroslav Vondrák was one of a generation of young architects who – under the influence of their illustrious teacher Jan Kotěra – was destined to transform the look of domestic architecture in Prague in the 1920s.

As well as this striking geometric facade on the corner of Charles de Gaulle and Verdun streets in Bubeneč, Vondrák was one of the successful competitors to design the new ‘garden city’ of Ořechovka, a mile to the south-west in the neighbouring suburb of Střešovice.
